Weekly COVID-19 Update: November 19
Team,

Heading into the holiday break, I am comforted by this week’s report showing another decrease in our on-campus positive cases. Many factors have contributed to the seven-week downward trend, and to each of you, I want to say thank you.

With Thanksgiving in mind, I have been reflecting on all that has been accomplished since August, and how proud I continue to be of our Bengal family. You––our dedicated faculty and staff––show pride and commitment each day as you inspire a passion for learning and serve our students. I hope each of you are also able to take a few moments over the next week and reflect on the many things we have to be grateful for in our lives.
SITUATIONAL UPDATE
  • Idaho State will remain at Level White on all campuses. The operational modifications implemented earlier this semester continue to work, and they will remain in place at least two more weeks.

  • Face coverings are still required indoors and at outdoor events when physical distancing is not possible. This requirement includes tomorrow’s football game in Holt Arena against the University of Idaho.

  • Our vaccine incentive program for students will end on Friday, December 10.

  • All students, faculty, and staff, should continue to use the Self-Report Form if they have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID or if they are experiencing COVID-like symptoms. This is especially important with many traveling next week.

  • For eligible individuals, booster shots of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are widely available, including on our campuses. All higher education employees are eligible for boosters. Starting Monday, November 22, pediatric doses of the vaccine will be available at the Bengal Pharmacy.

I will not send an email next Friday due to the holiday, but our Health Committee will continue to monitor the situation and update our Roaring Back website if needed. It has been a great semester for Idaho State University, and together, we are changing the lives of our students.
