Olympic Games Are More Than Just A Game
The 2022 Winter Olympic games are happening in Beijing as you may already know (Beijing is 13 hours ahead if anyone is curious). I personally love the Olympics as there are a plethora of different events with a vast array of countries competing, what is there not to love?!? This year I have noticed more emphasis on personal family history of athletes competing, information about home countries, team unity, preparation, and compassion. An example of this is Mikaela Shiffrin, a very accomplished U.S. skier who talked about a personal family loss and more recently did not finish two of her stronger events. Mikaela, within the last day, shared how much support she has received from fellow Olympians: “I never would've felt that humans could be so kind, said Shiffrin, who told NBC that completing the super-G was a big relief. It's the most surprising thing of my Olympic experience is how kind people have been in the face of my failure, she added. It is failure. It's okay to say that. I am okay with that. And I'm sorry for it, but I also was trying." There is a real opportunity to discuss the humanistic and educational components of these phenomenal athletes with your cherub(s)!

The Rapid Response Access Point, more commonly referred to as mobile crisis response, began 1-1-22 with very little fanfare.

Now, for 24/7 crisis support, someone simply calls the statewide Rapid Response Access Point number. This line provides over the phone support and problem solving by clinicians to help resolve a behavioral health crisis!

If the crisis cannot be resolved over the phone, a Mobile Crisis Response Team may be dispatched to wherever the individual is.
