Governor Announces Revamped Rebuild VA Grant

VRLTA is pleased to announce that we have been working with the Governor’s office to implement changes to the structure of Governor Ralph Northam’s Rebuild VA economic recovery fund for businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19.

Thanks to our efforts, VRLTA succeeded in getting the Governor to make changes to the program which will make funds available to more businesses. Changes include:

  • Increasing the maximum amount grant recipients can obtain; employers can now receive up to $100,000 in grant funding
  • Allocating an additional $30 million to the fund, so a total of $100 million is now available to businesses
  • Expanding access to more businesses; now, businesses that earned up to $10 million in 2019 may apply, and businesses with up to 250 employees may apply.

The deadline is December 31, 2020; however, if you're interested in applying, do so soon, as the dollars are expected to run out quickly.

You can find more on the program, including the application here.

We have gotten feedback from a few members about issues with the application...

  • If you are still seeing a limit of $1.5MM in revenue or 50 employees, please clear your computer's cache by using CTRL+F5. The application is updated on the website, but your computer is 'remembering' the old application. Clear the cache to get the latest version of the application.
  • If you have an issue because you previously applied and are now trying to apply with the same EIN (or if you have other related issues), please reach out to the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity at VSBFA.Online@sbsd.virginia.gov; they can help you with additional questions.
