What's New in 8th Grade GSP?

Hi hello everyone! Can you believe we have 4 Thursdays left together before Graduation?! We have spent some time talking through the graduation program and also having more discussions related to high school as we prepare for the next chapter! It's bittersweet knowing that we are almost at the end. Below is important information regarding the Graduation dinner/ceremony and all the things we've been up to in GSP. Graduation Dinner + Ceremony

Graduation Dinner 2022

The Graduation dinner is scheduled for June 6th @ 5:30 - 7:00 PM. Students can bring two guests at no cost. Additional guests are $10 each, 3 guests for $25. Please text or email me how many guests will be attending the dinner. Money for extra guests and RSVPs are due by May 29th! Student Attire: Semi-Casual

Graduation Ceremony 2022

The Graduation ceremony is on June 7th at Serviam. Students must arrive by 5:00 PM. The ceremony starts promptly at 6:00 PM in Grace Church Chapel on West Street. Each student's family will have a row reserved for them. Each row is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Student Attire: White dress or white blouse/dress shirt + pants to wear under the graduation gown.

GSP Focus of the Month (April/May) High School!

We are finishing up our GSP Career Speaker Series! Based on the class' choices in careers, we've invited different speakers from a variety of career fields to talk to us about their career journeys. See below for some of the speakers we've had come in this month! We also had students from the Tatnall School speak to our class about high school and their experiences navigating a predominately White private school.

Lastly, we kicked off a 5 week workshop series with the YWCA called the Esteem Program. The following topics will be addressed in this series: Character Building Leadership/Self-Awareness & Respect Conflict Resolution/Problem Solving/Decision making Diversity Teen Dating Violence Prevention & Establishing Healthy Relationships & Consent Employability We will also spend some time in GSP discussing the skills needed to succeed in high school such as time management and organization, managing stress, self advocacy, accountability + responsibility, & balancing academics with social life.

Evening Under the Stars 2023! We had 12 alumnae and 3 of our 8th graders attend Evening under the Stars and it was such a fun night! Alumnae got to network and meet new people, enjoy some good music and food, and explore the beautiful Bellevue Mansion. Some of our post high school alumnae also got to share a little bit of their stories and did a fabulous job!
