Crosscurrents weekly edition
January 31, 2021
In this week’s gospel we witness the authority of Jesus to teach and to liberate.
Adult Faith Formation Returns This Week
Pastor Dave has returned from his vacation and Continuing Education time off. He expresses thanks to all who made it possible for him to have this time of rest and renewal, and is excited to be back in the office and recording worship from the Sanctuary.

With Pastor Dave’s return comes the return also of “The he Pastor’s Study” Adult Faith Formation online series. The next episode covering the text for next week’s worship will be posted this Thursday.

Also posted on our YouTube channel this week, the February guide for Circle Leaders for the WELCA Bible Study. The scheduled posting is Thursday.
Find Your Phase
Vaccines for the Novel Coronavirus are becoming available throughout the state. Currently, the vaccine is available for all people age 65 years and older, and people 50 years and older in multi-generational households.

To learn more about when you will be eligible to receive the vaccine, or to learn more about vaccination locations, visit the Washington State Department of Health website.
Grounds Clean-Up This Friday
Pastor Dave echoes Colin’s thank you from last Sunday’s service to the Cub Scouts for the cleanup work they did, mostly in the back parking lot, picnic and firepit area.

Thanks also to Bob Shelley and Don Westby for cleanup work they’ve been doing this week. But there’s still a lot of downed branches and other debris.

This Friday, February 5, Pastor Dave is planning to do more campus cleanup from 10am to around noon. If you are able to join him, your help would be appreciated. Of course we’ll be following all the needed health measures – so bring your mask along with your work gloves and thanks in advance.

Contact Pastor Dave to volunteer or to learn more.
Celebrating the Life of Edie Hershey
Many blessings to the family of our sister Edie Hershey. A small number of her family will be gathering this Thursday for a private time of remembrance and thanksgiving for her life. The family hopes to be able to gather with Edie’s church family sometime in the coming months when circumstances allow. They are most thankful for your prayers, thoughts, and cards.
