Dear Families,

It’s never too early to think about Valentine’s Day. Our hearts are overflowing with love and kindness as we are thinking of others. Our younger students have been bringing in their Valentines in anticipation of the big day. They are busy making hearts and boxes.  We’ve also been busy making Valentine’s Day cards for our homebound parishioners. A little love and kindness goes a long way to make someone’s day.

Thank you for the abundance of food that was collected for the Waukesha Food Pantry.  The need is so great right now.  You really rose to the occasion. We collected 2074 items. This will be a blessing to many people and feed many families! Congratulations to Mrs. Perez’s class who won the challenge for most food collected. Check it out here to see the class totals.

I have been working on the 2022-2023 school calendar and will have a preliminary calendar for you soon.

I’d like to welcome Mrs. Jill Nordstrom as our new K4/K5 aide. Jill is mom to James, who is in 3rd grade.

Thank you to Mrs. Pat Heim, our Jr. High Science teacher for starting a curling club for our 5-8th graders through the Wauwatosa Curling Club. Mrs. Heim is an experienced curler who has been curling for over 16 years. Who knows, we might have a future Olympian among us!

Just a reminder that there is no school tomorrow. It is a Professional Development Day for the teachers.

K3 is learning the story of "The Three Little Pigs."
It is finally GIRL SCOUT COOKIE selling season in WI and there are lots of SMV Girl Scouts in the cookie business. Please support our school troops by buying from one of our girls. Scouts in K5, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade are taking orders now and deliveries will be made in time for Fat Tuesday. Be sure to ask about the newest cookie - Adventurefuls.

For the second year in a row, SMV was a Top Donating School for Soles for Catholic education!! Top Schools receive a proportional match from Soles' sponsors. We were just notified of this achievement and received a $5,000 check! Thank you for supporting Catholic education and SMV!
Catholic School's Week is always such a lively week for SMV! Thank you to Mr. Newman and the teachers who plan the week! H&S participates by organizing the Chili Chomp and the Bowling Event. Thanks to Amy & Peter Henry for keeping the spirit of the Chili Chomp alive! Sampling spicy & tasty chili was a treat; lots of family laughs were had in the judging too! SMV families were able to strike up more fun at New Berlin Bowl. A fun, free afternoon of bowling seems like the perfect way to end a fantastic week. Thanks to Julia Fishler for organizing that event!
