Research Brief: WTCS colleges “moved rapidly” in response to COVID-19
NSF-funded Wisconsin Center on Education Research (University of Wisconsin-Madison) study of change and innovation in technical education finds institutions in the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) moved rapidly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, revamping services and instructional practices to holistically serve students and meet their critical needs.
WTCS Education Director published
Valerie Crespín-Trujillo, WTCS Education Director for General Education and Business Programs, and her collaborator Matthew Hora recently published the research article, "Teaching during a pandemic: Insights into faculty teaching practices and implications for future improvement."

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted courses at community colleges and forced a transition to emergency remote learning. This article focuses on the impacts of the rapid shift to online teaching on community college instructors and includes recommendations on ways for institutions to support faculty through professional development in curriculum, instruction, and virtual student engagement.
