Blvck Door, a MICA 2022 UP/Start Venture Competition startup, co-founded by Iman Carr ’22 (Design Leadership MA) was featured in Technical.ly for “bridging the network gap.” The online platform aims to connect creatives of color to employers, and be paid fairly for their talent.

Rachel Recker ’07 (Printmaking BFA)
Armed with her passion for art and years of experience as a therapist, Rachel lept into a brave new world in 2020 to start Salish Sea Ceramic Studio in Downtown Everett. Focusing on community, vulnerability and being a place for the people of Everett, the studio offers memberships, classes, buying art and a studio assistant program.

MICA is pleased to announce the permanent installation of a self-portrait bust of William Henry Rinehart, the namesake of The Rinehart School of Sculpture, MICA’s MFA granting sculpture program. The artwork was generously donated by David G. Wirtes, Jr. in the fall of 2021. Read more about why he chose MICA for its final home.
