1. Mug Club Caregiver Support Group
Brown County ADRC
Wednesday, February 9th from 6-7pm

Self-care is more than a catch phrase and it’s more than important; it’s critical.
Taking time out for ourselves helps to prevent burnout, increases our good health, decreases symptoms of depression, and so much more.
Besides, as a caregiver, I couldn’t care for someone else as I do if I didn't take time out for taking care of myself.
~Gloria Kraegel

The Mug Club meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 6–7:00 pm.

4. Powerful Tools for Caregivers
Brown County ADRC
Starting Tuesday, February 15th from 5-6:30pm

Powerful Tools for Caregivers Class can help caregivers identify and manage stress, manage difficult feelings due to losses, schedule changes, increased responsibilities, trying to manage work and caregiving, etc. They also learn effective communication tools and several relaxation techniques that can help ease the challenges of caregiving.

A Virtual Session of Powerful Tools for Caregivers will be held once weekly on Tuesday Evenings from 5-6:30pm beginning February 15th and ending on Tuesday, March 22nd.

This program is designed to help caregivers care for themselves while caring for a loved one, whether that loved one lives with them or lives in a care facility, and whether they are distant caregivers or are helping a friend or neighbor.

To participate, caregivers will need to have access to a computer or I-Pad and have internet access. They will receive a brief phone call from the program leader prior to the first session on how to use the computer meeting program that will be used, so minimal computer skills are necessary.

Due to some of the sensitive discussions, and to allow yourself the opportunity to talk freely, you may wish to separate yourself from your care receiver during class time.

A $30 donation is suggested to cover the cost of the Caregiver Help-book manual. Class size is limited to eight participants. For more information or to register, call the ADRC at 448 4300 today
