Caring Hands News

After a bit of a Winter hiatus, GVCO Caring Hands has returned with several volunteer opportunities. With the Spring weather, we are looking for our student volunteers to get outdoors and give a bit of your time to some wonderful local causes.

Please take some time and read about assisting the SPCA with their mission; helping brighten someone's day with flowers; or doing a wonderful community service. Review the sign up geniuses below and consider giving some of your time. Do you enjoy baking? We have an event for you. Do you enjoy gardening or painting? We have an event for you. This is the reason you signed up for GVCO Caring Hands in the first place. There is very little more rewarding than giving your time to helping others.

"I hope that what I am today is of positive benefit to other people."

Project Update

As the entire complex begins to transform over the next few months and an anticipated opening of the 1st Phase of the facility by the end of the summer 2023, we will continue to look for the community's financial support for our new Great Valley Community Center facilities on Bacton Hil Rd.

This $6.3 million complex has been a long time in the making (2013) and has become a reality due to a great number of generous community members, the acceptance and acknowledgement of a State of Pennsylvania RACP grant and an extremely financially supportive, philanthropic GVCO Board of Directors.

By the end of 2023, GVCO will have assumed roughly $2.5 million of debt financing for the project. GVCO's goal, through the entire community's continued financial support, is to eliminate the debt immediately so we can continue to move forward with the remainder of the project.

Having no loans simply helps with the long term sustainability of the complex and its programming, and the next building block towards finishing the entire project. If anyone has any questions about the project and the plan, please don't hesitate to reach out to Keith Walsh at execdirector@gvco.org.
