Prof. Michele Goodwin hosted our 12th Annual Supreme Court Term in Review joined by an all-star panel on July 6 at the Irvine Barclay Theatre. Discussing cases affecting gun rights, reproductive justice and more, panelists engaged in a lively discussion to explore a Supreme Court term like few before it.
We are delighted to welcome Prof. Courtney Cahill to UCI Law! Cahill is breaking new ground in constitutional law, anti-discrimination law, reproductive rights, sex equality and LGBTQ equality.
Starting January 2023, a greater number of alumni will be eligible to receive financial assistance as the Law School enhances its Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP).
Congratulations to UCI Law graduate Jessica Michelle Santiago '22 for receiving a scholarship from the IPLI. Jessica will be joining the Newport Beach office of Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth as a Public Finance Associate in September.
UCI Law graduates Brooke Weitzman (pictured right), Co-Founder and CEO, Elder Law & Disability Rights Center (UCI Law ’14), and Christina M. Zabat-Fran (pictured left), Global General Counsel, St. John (UCI Law ’12), have been chosen by the Orange County/Long Beach region of the Anti-Defamation League to receive the 2022 ADL’s Marcus Kaufman Jurisprudence Award. Phil Kohn, partner at Rutan & Tucker, LLP, will also receive the award.
Prof. Swethaa Ballakrishnen received an Honorable Mention award for the LSA 2022 Herbert Jacob Book Prize for "Accidental Feminism." Additionally, Prof. Ballakrishnen was awarded the 2022-2023 Distinguished Early-Career Faculty Award for Research by the UCI Academic Senate.
Prof. Rachel Croskery-Roberts was elected to the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation, and also begins the term in August as the President-Elect for the Association of Legal Writing Directors.
Prof. Bryant Garth was appointed interim director of the American Bar Foundation.
