Ivan Baird, Lawrence North Class of 1991, has been named the 2020 CFO of the Year. Ivan is the CFO of AIS, a minority-owned information technology managed services provider that helps clients resolve critical technology challenges and adopt digital technology. Ivan traces his passion for finance to Jack Keefer, his basketball coach and accounting teacher at Lawrence North.

Andrew McCarthy, Lawrence Central Class of 2010, and Katharine Finn received the best Christmas present on December 19, 2020. Margaret "Maggie" Finn McCarthy made her debut! Congratulations on your new bundle of joy. We hope that you enjoy every minute of this new journey!

Matthew Kovacs, Lawrence Central Class of 2020, Coast Guard and Ceremonial Honor Guard member, held doors open at the Presidential Inauguration of Joe Biden.

Nijel Pack, Lawrence Central Class of 2020, scored a season/career-high of 17pts and counting on January 5, 2021. Nijel was running the show with four other first-year players on the court that night. Nigel shared, "If it's a game where they need me to come off the ball and make plays for others or make plays for myself, then that's what I'm going to do."

The "Cardiac Cats" did it again. Lawrence North, the state’s top-ranked team in Class 4A, completed a second consecutive four-wins-in-five-days run to the Marion County title with an intense 59-56 win over Warren Central at Southport Fieldhouse. A year ago, Lawrence North (13-0) won its first Marion County championship since 2008.

Lawrence Central High School boys basketball head coach, Al Gooden, earned his 500th career win on January 12th when his Bears beat Decatur Central in the Marion County Tournament, 58-38. Gooden becomes the first black coach, and tenth overall, in Indiana High School Basketball history, to reach the 500 wins milestone. |
