Thanksgiving Baskets
When a deserving, hardworking family is chosen for our Homeownership Program, they truly become part of the Habitat Family. To show this, we surprised several of our Partner Families last week with Thanksgiving baskets, filled with all the fixings needed for a holiday feast with their loved ones - even a whole turkey!

Habitat homeowners pictured here: Mayra Salazar (92nd Partner Family), Maria Gallegos-Aviles (94th Partner Family), Kristen Logue (97th Partner Family), and Amanda Stubblefield (99th Partner Family).
"This is going to be our last address," says Dina Sosa, the recipient of our 105th home.

Dina’s dreams are coming true and the timing couldn’t be better. The home she is building with Habitat for Humanity of Denton County with funding from Wells Fargo Builds will be twice as big as her current rental home. She and her two daughters, Gabby and Cecilia, are planning to be able to move in before the holidays, so they will be able to put up a Christmas tree of their own this year for the first time.

Dina's amazing, hope-filled story is featured now on Habitat for Humanity's website! Read the full story now.
“Home for the holidays” for many of us, is a magical time of year when we look forward to gathering together with our families and friends to celebrate the season in the warmth and comfort of our homes.

But, when you don’t have an affordable place to live, the holidays can be a heart-wrenching time. No one should have to choose between a happy holiday with their family and making ends meet.

On this Giving Tuesday, we need you. We hope you can find it in your hearts this season to give families more reasons to celebrate. Give now!

Thank you to our November Food Sponsors!
This month, our volunteers worked many days serving on our 105th home. We love to show our appreciation for their service through a midday meal! Special thanks to these Denton restaurants for donating lunches, iced tea, and more for our volunteers this month: Chicken Express on I-35 and BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse on I-35.

Special thanks to Ms. Linda and Mr. Scott for volunteering their time to help coordinate these meals!

Check out the amazing progress on our 105th home, pictured here. Work on this home began less than two months ago, and our volunteers have put in countless hours ensuring it meets inspections and is of the highest possible quality for the Sosa Family.
December 18: 106th Home Groundbreaking Ceremony

We are excited to join the Greater Denton/Wise County Association of Realtors in their Toys for Tots drive this year! You can participate by bringing new, unwrapped toys that will support the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. This local program distributes the toys as Christmas gifts to needy children within our community.

We have a toy drop-off station at the ReStore, or you can drop off directly at the GDWCAR office. Drop-off started November 1 and goes through December 10. Thank you for your support of this wonderful program!
