A note from Bishop Price
Bishop Price
To all clergy and laity:

During the time I have been serving as your bishop, I have tried to keep in regular touch via Zoom calls. Next week will be my last calls before stepping away from this position. They have been set for clergy and laity combined, and will take place on May 19 at 1 p.m. and May 20 at 10 a.m. Any clergy or lay person can register for either call by clicking on the links below.

The topic for our last call is Compassion Fatigue. I will have some resources to share regarding how we can be supportive as we re-engage ministry post-COVID and how we, as pastoral caretakers, can cope with issues raised during the past year. I hope in our discussion time those folks on the call will share how they and their church are handling life at this time. It will also be a time to allow people from all corners of the diocese to touch base with one another. I hope to see many of you on the Zoom screen next week.

Bishop Ken Price

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

CEEP webinar: Millennials and the Episcopal Church
Wednesday, May 12
3 p.m.

How does the Episcopal Church attract a new generation of serious seekers into its pews? Many parish profiles and strategic plans foreground the desire for greater numbers of “young families” or “young people” as parishes grapple with aging memberships and donor bases. At the same time, many congregations feel structurally and conceptually ill-equipped to meet the needs and interests of Millennials.

Faith Communities Go Green!
Green Umbrella logo
Faith Communities Go Green, a Green Umbrella Impact Team, is a collaborative project to bring all faith communities together to integrate care of our natural world through action. You are invited to our fifth Faith Communities Go Green Impact Team meeting to learn about the important work we are doing.

Date: Wednesday, May 19
Time: 1 to 2:30 p.m.

We need to hear your thoughts and ideas. Like you, we are concerned about climate change and environmental justice. Research has shown that faith communities have the power to change people’s attitudes and daily habits to live more sustainably and equitably.

Green Umbrella is the regional sustainability alliance of Greater Cincinnati. Visit our webpage for more information https://greenumbrella.org/faith/ Join our team, sign up for our next event and complete our survey.

Photos needed
Our diocesan website relies on quality, interesting images to keep the site new and fresh. We incorporate several pictures from around the diocese in sliders on both the home page and most interior pages.

Send in your photos! We're looking for some fresh images of Episcopalians doing stuff in their communities or closeups of elements of our beautiful worship spaces. Photos shot on mobile devices are acceptable, with the following conditions: Photos need to be high resolution (send at largest original size) and shot in landscape orientation (that means turn your phone sideways!). Send photos to Julie Murray at jmurray@diosohio.org.

Episcopal Relief & Development supports CASA India in COVID-19 response
Episcopal Relief & Development is supporting its partner Church’s Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA) in responding to needs created by the current COVID-19 crisis in India. CASA is conducting COVID-19 educational awareness campaigns and supplying personal protective equipment and hygiene kits to rural communities.

CASA has identified 15 villages in the Nandurbar District of western India where the organization has relationships to leverage in providing assistance. Due to the remote locations of the villages and lack of Internet connectivity, many in the communities are not aware of how to prevent the spread of COVID-19. There are misconceptions about the vaccine. Additionally, many members of the communities are at higher risk of complications from COVID-19 due to malnutrition and weakened immunity. In April, the Nandubar District reported an 81% increase in cases.
