Sixth-Form Final Week of School Schedule
While details for the final week for the class of 2023 will be available at a later date, we hope the information below will be helpful in your planning:

  • All boarding, sixth-form students will be packing and cleaning their rooms during the final week before graduation. This process must begin before graduation weekend and dorm faculty will need to sign off on progress for those students before they will be allowed to leave campus.

  • Sixth formers who have completed school obligations may choose to take an overnight away from campus on May 26 after 11 a.m. and return by May 28 before the 2 p.m. Lawn Ceremony. Please note that some sixth-form students will have school obligations on Friday and Saturday, including the May 27 NEIRA crew races and a independent recital the evening of May 26.
Sixth-Form White Water Rafting Trip and Community Service
As the class of 2023 approaches Prize Day, there will be several opportunities for the class to enjoy time together and finish out their time at Brooks giving back to the larger community and having fun. May 24 and May 25 are required, sixth-form event days. May 24 will be a service day followed by afternoon activities, while May 25 will be the class trip.

The sixth-formers are going white water rafting on the Deerfield River in western Massachusetts. This beautiful ten-mile trip through mild whitewater is the perfect outing for the soon-to-be graduates. No experience is necessary!

  • Parents, please complete the rafting waiver available through the health Magnus link in onBrooks.

Specific details and times for these days will be available at a later date.

Academics
Sneak a peek in the classroom: Third-form students have been working on coding and circuits in physics class. Projects include creating a traffic light system and devising a basketball scoreboard that senses all the shots made, as well as automatically updates the score.
College Counseling
Upcoming ACT and SAT Testing
Registration is closed for the April 15 ACT at Brooks. Brooks is an unlisted test center for the SAT on May 6 and June 3. Only Brooks students can register to take the test at Brooks. The test center code for Brooks is 22584.

  • The registration deadline for the June 3 SAT is May 4.

Brooks is not a test center for the ACT on June 10, but students who wish to take the ACT should plan ahead and find a test center near home for the June 10 ACT.

Students and/or their families are responsible for registering for the SAT and/or the ACT. Any questions can be directed to your student's college counselor or to Brooks' testing coordinator, Interim Director of the Learning Center Karina Moltz.
Athletics
Inspiring Kippy Liddle Day Speaker
On Monday, Jackie Kelleher ’12 delivered the speech for this year's Kippy Liddle Chapel service, which celebrates women's athletics in honor of the late history teacher and crew coach for which the event is named. Kelleher — a field hockey phenom at Brooks and later for Boston College — spoke about how her time with Brooks athletics "brought out the absolute best" in her and offered current students advice. Watch the speech and see a photo album from the reception afterward in our news story about the inspiring visit.
