A Message from your Chapter President

Congratulations Sacramento Safari Club, you did it! We made a “Call to Action” and you answered. Our batteries are charged, and we are ready for a great year ahead. At this year’s fundraiser we had a paid attendance of 182, received 19 new membership applications and renewals, introduced our new hunter mentor program, and introduced your new board and president in person. We had a great time and hope you did too. Your feedback was great, and we appreciate that.

We are planning our next annual dinner/fundraiser close to our usual time, on Saturday April 2, 2022. In the meantime, if any member has ideas or suggestions on how to improve the event, please let me know. We have come up with a few ideas of our own but fresh input is always valuable. Please contact me at wayne@sacramentosafariclub.org.

We are also discussing the idea of having quarterly members meetings which would be an opportunity to get to know more members, tell hunting stories, enjoy good food, wine, and beer, and maybe a raffle or two. We have not decided whether to do these during the week or weekend and what time of day. Have any thoughts on this let me know?

Did you know we are on Facebook? If you have not signed up for our page, go HERE. You can see 39 photos of the dinner taken by your own board member Jeanne Wallen. She did a great job of being our event photographer. Thank you, Jeanne. This is also a great place to share photos of a recent hunt you were on. We love to see our members successes. If you have an outstanding hunting guide or PH and would like the members to know about him/her please post it on Facebook as well.

We met several members that are interested in helping the club in a more active way and will contacting and interviewing candidates shortly. We are very interested in identifying a member who would have time to help us with multi-media marketing.

I am sure we are all excited that hunting season is upon us, I am ready to recharge my personal batteries and get back out there. I want to encourage all of you to consider meeting up at the SCI 50th Annual Hunters Convention in Las Vegas, January 19- 22. I will be there, so please let me know if you are coming. I will try to get us together at one of the convention events.

Happy Trails!
Wayne Wickham
