NIS TURKEY TROT

Students at our main site participated in our first annual Turkey Trot and had a blast! Special thanks to Margaret Kilmer, Mary Baccarella, and Sue Behrens for their help!

At our “November Senses” special event, children will explore various stations. They will build Mr. Potato Head using real potatoes, bowl with oranges and grapefruits, explore different textures in sensory bags, feed the Hungry Caterpillar pretend foods, paint with broccoli, and some of the children will make turkey handprints using food. Here are some fun activities you can try with your child at home.

  • "Making Snow" is great for sensory seekers and incorporates following directions.

Save the Date! This year, #GivingTuesday is on 11/30! As many of you know, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.   Donate to NIS or host a Facebook fundraiser, in which Meta will match dollar for dollar on 11/30.  Remember: NIS is a nonprofit school that relies on donations to enhance the programs and services provided to its students and families.
