Remember that delicious butternut squash soup that I made last year for Harvest Home that we enjoyed in the parking lot? Well, I’m making it again! Bring a mug and a spoon along to church on Sunday and I’ll fill it up after church. If you help out at the Yard Sale, you’re soup will be free. Wait a minute, all the soup will be free. Okay, so if you help out at the Yard Sale you get to be at the front of the soup line!!
Calling All Confirmands!

To those who began the Confirmation Program prior to the COVID-19 pandemic but were not able to complete it, this information is for you and your parents.

If you are thinking that it was time to start Confirmation by now but weren’t able to do so due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this information is for you and your parents.

If you think you might be of Confirmation age and wondering if there will be a program this year, this information is for you and your parents.

Simply put, my goals are to:

1. Finish the Confirmation education for those who started the program but are at different stages due to the interruption of COVID so that they may complete their studies and be Confirmed on Pentecost Sunday, June 5, 2022.

2. Secondly, it is also my goal to start Confirmation education for those who have yet to start their program so they can be Confirmed on Pentecost Sunday, May 28, 2023.

Due to the interruption of COVID-19 pandemic the program will look different for everyone depending on where they were before everything shut down but I see no reason why this can’t be a rich, rewarding, and meaning experience for everyone. Please join me in the Fellowship Hall this Sunday evening at 7:00 PM so that I can explain the program. Youth in grades seven and above are invited, welcomed, and encouraged to participate. If a previous commitment prevents you from participating and you are interested, please notify me. For the sake of everyone’s health and safety I request that all in attendance wear face masks.

~Pastor Bruce
If you would like to take part in the service as usher or lay reader, please email Joan Hassler .
Is there someone in your life in need of prayer? Click here to fill out a prayer request form and Pastor Bruce will mention that person’s first name during worship. Please be sensitive to privacy. Permission to share from those involved must be granted before making a request.

Letter from our Conference Minister

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, will I say rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)

Dear Friends,

For most of my life, this has been one of my favorite Bible verses. I know you’ve heard me mention favorites before, and while I have many, these two sentences anchor my attitude in faith. Even though it is sometimes hard to rejoice, for any number of personal, professional, familial, cultural, or political reasons, rejoicing can be its own reward.

Much as an affirmation can begin your day well, this verse, this choice to rejoice in the world, starts my day well. I am reminded, every time I read it or say it, that my life, when anchored in God, can be filled with rejoicing. Here’s the thing. Often, I think we wait until something wonderful happens to express joy and rejoicing. We wait for the promotion, the new baby, the positive outcome of a date or of a work presentation. What if we simply decided to rejoice?

There are certainly enough things to rejoice about: the air we breathe, the earth on which we live, the home we inhabit, the work we are able to do, the friendship and love we have and share. This is not to discount any of the challenges in the world, in our work, in our families or in our love lives. Yet, choosing joy, choosing to rejoice can remake our day, can shift our attitude, can bless us in ways that just reacting to what happens to us never can.

So today, and every day, I will choose to rejoice in the Lord, in my God. I know that whatever is going on around me or inside me, God is present. I can and will rejoice in that! Might the world be a different place if we all chose to live in joy and share our rejoicing with others? I think so. Today, I wish you joy and a chance for rejoicing!

Blessings,
Bonnie
Encouraging our College Students

For those of us who have left home for the first time after graduation, whether it be to attend college or service or some other adventure, it can be a difficult and lonely time. Faith Church provides encouragement to our college students and lets them know that they are not forgotten and we are praying for their success. We do this by sending cards and care packages. The post office has boxes for a flat fee that can be jammed as full as you want with treats and fun things. Or send a note with a gift card to any place to eat. Anytime is a good time whether it be right after their arrival at college or during finals. We are looking for people to sponsor college students. Please contact Sandi DiSanto if you are interested in sending a card or care package to a college student this fall.
