ART AROUND TOWN
Things to See & Do in Baltimore
Station North Arts & Entertainment District is hosting its last Art Walk of the summer on Friday, September 24. Stop by the Ynot Lot between 5–8 p.m. for vendors, food, music, maps, and more. This month's event also includes two special community art events that look at how light shapes our environment: "We're Here," by artist April Danielle Lewis in partnership with Signal Station North, and "The Baltimore Underline," an upcoming black light mural installation along North Ave from our friends at Made You Look + MICA's Center for Social Design. TRUEPENNY PROJECTS PRESENTS
A Collection of New Plays
Join Truepenny Projects for a unique night of theater as they present a collection of new plays, each exploring an aspect of immortality. Every performance night, a host will guide an audience of 10 through the space to experience each play. There are two performances per night at 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and a different set of plays performs each evening September, 23–October 3. If you want to catch them all, you'll have to go twice! A Series of Inspiring Dinner Parties
Creative Alliance’s Art To Dine For series is one of the most anticipated season of parties dotted across the Baltimore region. Each party is hosted in an exclusive space by fascinating collectors, designers, artists, musicians, singers, dancers, and arts lovers. They generously welcome you into their homes, lofts, studios, or workplaces for an insider's view of Baltimore's vivacious art scene. NEW EXHIBIT AT THE WALTERS
Betty Cooke: The Circle and the Line
Go see the first major museum retrospective of Baltimore artist Betty Cooke's work. The exhibition opened on September 19 and will run until January 2, 2022. A graduate and longtime teacher at MICA, Betty's jewelry has been featured in Vogue and received two Diamonds Today awards from DeBeers. In 1996 she was made a Fellow of the American Craft Council. VIRTUAL SIP AND SHINE

Join the American Visionary Arts Museum (AVAM) virtually on Tuesday, September 28, at 7:00 p.m. to make a mosaic inspired by artist Andrew Logan's "Cosmic Galaxy Egg" or Dr. Evermor's wildly imaginative Bird Band sculptures. For this interactive event, AVAM will provide instruction, inspiration, and an art kit. (Kits are $25 each, plus shipping, or available for local pickup.) OPEN HOUSE & COMMUNITY RESOURCE DAY
Tour the A. Hoen & Co. Lithograph Building
On Saturday, October 2, from 1:004:00 p.m., the tenants of The A. Hoen & Co. Lithograph Building are hosting an Open House and Community Resource Day. This free event is open to everyone. Come tour the renovated building, meet the tenants, and participate in fun children's activities. There will also be local food vendors and a local DJ. Click the link below for details.
HIGHLIGHTING OVERLOOKED ARTISTS
Fall Exhibition at the Driskell Center
The David C. Driskell Center for the Study of the Visual Arts and Culture of African Americans and the African Diaspora at the University of Maryland, College Park presents its fall 2021 exhibition, "American Landscapes" through November 19. This is the first ever exhibition juxtaposing landscapes by African American artists with contemporaries. Click the button below for more info.

NORTHWEST BALTIMORE TO GET NEW COMMUNITY CENTER
The historic Ambassador Theater, a long-vacant art deco cultural hub in Northwest Baltimore, is getting a new lease on life. Vacant since a fire gutted it in 2012, the the facility will reopen soon as a studio space, gallery, and rentable dance theater for Baltimore artists.

The Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar is back on Sundays from 7:00 a.m.12:00 p.m.! 

The Baltimore Farmers’ Market & Bazaar has welcomed back beloved elements like hot food vendors and the Bazaar’s artisans in a limited capacity, after offering a food-only market throughout the 2020 season. The Baltimore Farmers’ Market & Bazaar continues maintaining public health regulations to provide a safe experience for all.  

The 44th season is scheduled to run weekly, 7:00 a.m.12:00 p.m. on Sundays through December 19, 2021, with continuous adaptation to maintain health and safety.
