Your vote, your voice
This year’s election in Aurora has voters filling seats Nov. 2 for Aurora City Council Wards I, II and III and two At-Large positions. School district offices and some municipal, county, special district, and state ballot issues also may appear on the ballot. It’s time to make sure you are registered to vote and ready to participate in the coordinated election.

Ballots are mailed in every Colorado election. Visit GoVoteColorado.gov to check your registration status and make sure your address is current because ballots are not forwarded by the U.S. Postal Service.

Ballots will be mailed starting Oct. 8 to all active registered voters. If you do not receive a ballot by Oct. 16, update your voter registration at GoVoteColorado.gov by Oct. 25, and a replacement one will be mailed to you. After Oct. 25, ballots cannot be mailed to voters, and you will need to visit a Voter Service and Polling Center to update your registration and request a ballot.

Ballots may be returned by mail with paid postage, or delivered to any one of the ballot drop-off locations in your county. Ballots must be received by 7 p.m. Election Day Nov. 2 to be counted.

If you prefer to handle things in person, please visit any local Voter Service and Polling Center between Oct. 25 and Nov. 2 to register to vote, update your registration, replace or request a ballot, or vote with an accessible ballot marking tablet.

Be safe and don’t “slow speed”
We all want a quick, efficient commute, but we want a safe one even more.

The Denver Regional Council of Governments has launched a campaign that the city of Aurora is proud to support as part of Vision Zero that aims to raise awareness about slow speeding. You read that right—slow speeding—because the deadliest form of speeding often doesn’t look like speeding at all. For instance, a vehicle traveling at 40 mph is 60% more likely to cause injury or death to a pedestrian than one going just 20 mph.

ARPA Survey Deadline
Wednesday, Oct. 8
Aurorans are invited to share big ideas on how the city should spend $65.4 million in federal funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) that could have the greatest positive impact on the community. Based on the parameters set by the provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act, the city has identified three main categories for use of these federal funds: community assistance, infrastructure funding and service preservation. The survey asks the community to rank their choices of potential priorities in these three categories, and the idea boards allow participants to write their own ideas in the same categories. Paper surveys in multiple languages are available at Aurora public libraries.
