NSU Law welcomes Paulette Brown back to South Florida as the 2020 John B. Anderson Distinguished Visiting Chair in Public Interest Law, as she discusses the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession’s new report “Left Out and Left Behind. The Hurdles, Hassles, and Heartaches of Achieving Long-Term Legal Careers for Women of Color”.

Paulette Brown, serves as Senior Partner & Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer with the international law firm, Locke Lord LLP in Princeton, NJ and New York, NY. Throughout her distinguished career, she has been a champion for inclusion, diversity, and an equitable legal system.

Since 1976, Brown has been an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and has served in numerous positions, including; state delegate, Young Lawyer’s Division, chair, Council on Racial and Ethnic Justice, co-chair of the Commission on Civic Education in the Nation’s Schools and Board of Governors. In 2015, she became the first African American woman and the third African American president of the ABA. Brown also served as president of the National Bar Association.
