APRIL Updates, News, and Resources
|
|
Greetings!
There is something deeply refreshing about the change of seasons. Even during this pandemic, which has felt at times like one endless month, the warming weather, the chirping birds, and the sight of real humans out and about enjoying all of it brings a sense of lightness and hope to daily life. We are wishing you all a healthy spring, and want to thank you again for reading this newsletter each month.
And that's not all! Here at CHTI, we are celebrating National Public Health Week (April 5th-11th). Click here or scroll down to read more, and be sure to check out our daily blog posts highlighting this year's theme, Building Bridges to Better Health.

Date: April 8th, 2021
Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EST
Location: Online via Zoom
There is still time to register for the Your Rights in Recovery Webinar on April 8! Maintaining recovery while navigating other important aspects of life like employment or housing can be challenging, but you are not alone. Throughout all of life’s milestones, there are people, organizations, and laws to protect your rights in recovery. Join a virtual room of advocates, allies, people in treatment and recovery, providers, and more to review the “Your Rights in Recovery Toolkit.”
Your Rights in Recovery was developed through RIZE’s Together in Recovery: Supporting Informed Decisions initiative. The toolkit is designed for people who may not have access to the right supports – often through no fault of their own – to manage their opioid use disorder and begin to recover on their own terms. The Together in Recovery Advisory Committee, comprised of advocates, clinicians, public officials, and people with lived experience, helped create the toolkit to improve support and provide unbiased information for individuals with opioid use disorder and their allies. It will be accessible online, easily printable, and available in English and Spanish.
The webinar will include remarks by Attorney General Maura Healey, stories from people in recovery, and a brief demonstration of how to use the toolkit.

BLOG SPOTLIGHT: NATIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH WEEK 2021
|
|
This year, the American Public Health Association (APHA) chose the 2021 National Public Health Week theme, Building Bridges to Better Health, in honor of the past year of social and physical distancing, and the ways in which individuals and communities worked to overcome those barriers to remain connected to each other in the pursuit of good health.
The CHTI team, with help from some of our Health Resources in Action colleagues, wrote blogs for each daily theme. In our posts, we aimed to uplift the strands of equity, justice, and good health for all that connect each day's theme. We hope you enjoy our offerings, check them out here!
