USHJA Outreach Member Highlight
|
|
Isabella Marchese, 12, of Colts Neck, New Jersey, was Reserve Champion of the USHJA Outreach Jumpers .7M.
What did you enjoy about participating in the Outreach program in 2020?
What I enjoyed most about participating in the Outreach program in 2020 was my ability to get more experience through showing while being able to make mistakes to learn from them. I thought that each show was all fun and exciting!
How did you get involved in the sport?
I started riding horses as far back as I can remember. I always knew that I wanted to professionally ride and compete since I was a young girl. My trainer, Hugo Huesca, truly inspired me to begin that journey.
What’s your favorite riding memory?
Riding and competing with my first leased pony, Maserati.
What are riding goals for this year?
I love jumpers and my goal is to compete in the meters.

USHJA Recognized Riding Academy Spotlight: Hunters Ridge
|
|
Tell us a little about your program and who you serve.
Hunters Ridge is a lesson barn in Lockport, New York, with a concentration in teaching good horsemanship and correct riding.
What made you want to become a Recognized Riding Academy?
We wanted to become an RRA to be able to tell the prospective students that we were being held to a safety standard by the USHJA and incorporate the programs into our program.
Tell us about your star lesson horse and why he/she is the best lesson horse around.
Nala is 36 years old this year! She's been in my program for 20 years. She used to go to all the shows and has been a therapeutic horse and now does longeline lessons.
