Dear Barrington 220 Community,

Last month I shared that I would be launching a new video series called "Dr. Hunt OutFront". The series highlights Barrington 220 staff members who go above and beyond to improve the student experience, as well as our exceptional students. The focus of the video series relates to our theme for the 2021-22 school year, which is #SeetheStudent220.

I am excited to share with you the first episode. For this video I had the opportunity to get to know Mauricio Mata, the Head Custodian at Countryside Elementary School. Mr. Mauricio is a 1970 graduate of Barrington High School, where he ran cross country and track and earned 7 varsity letters during his high school career. He has worked at Countryside since 2009 and is a beloved staff member who always goes above and beyond for his school community. One unique gesture that characterizes his kindness is the way he has decorated the wall clocks at Countryside. Several years ago, Mr. Mauricio noticed the clocks were looking very bare and he began decorating all 11 of them with kid-friendly memorabilia so that the students would have something fun to see while walking through the halls.
Mr. Mauricio will be retiring in December and I want to thank him for his commitment to always #SeetheStudent. Please view the video by clicking the link below.
