Article - Millisecond Mix-and-Quench Crystallography (MMQX) Enables Time-Resolved Studies of PEPCK With Remote Data Collection
Image Source: Clinger, et al. (2021). Millisecond mix-and-quench crystallography (MMQX) enables time-resolved studies of PEPCK with remote data collection. IUCrJ, volume 8, Part 5 https://doi.org/10.1107/S2052252521007053
In this paper at IUCrJ by Jonathan A. Clinger, et al., is explains millisecond mix-and-quench crystallography (MMQX) "which yields millisecond time-resolved data using far fewer crystals and routine remote synchrotron data collection." MMQX should "lower the entry barrier to time-resolved crystallography" and "enable a broad expansion in structural studies of protein dynamics."
Updated Products - XP Screens
We recently added to and updated our selection of XP Screens which promote protein crystallization even for the most challenging targets and improve diffraction quality of protein crystals. In addition, XP Screens have been upgraded with the Anderson−Evans polyoxotungstate (TEW) which is shown to improve crystal quality and resolution.
Article - Using Bioinformatics Tools To Get The Most Out Of Your Protein Sequence
From a paper at Acta Cryst D by Joana Pereira, et al. , learn about the advantages of using bioinformatics tools to get the most out of your protein sequence. The MPI Bioinformatics Toolkit is "described and how their combined use can provide meaningful information on a protein of unknown function is demonstrated."
Product Spotlight - Choosing A Microscope Made Easy
Research labs need great equipment for better results. Having a high-quality stereo microscopes for sample screening and preparation in crystallography and cryo-EM can make a big difference to researchers.

To make life easier, we've generated microscope bundles for every size lab and budget. Our kits offer the features that matter the most for researchers and are generated by one of the leading optics manufacturer in the world, Carl Zeiss.
Upcoming Events
At MiTeGen, we sponsor numerous events, conferences, workshops and symposiums throughout the year. These events include fields such as structural biology, crystallography, cryo-EM, beamline research and more. We believe in supporting researchers and our industry. Listed below are two upcoming events you might find interesting.
The 78th Annual Pittsburgh Diffraction Conference will be held September 19th to the 21st. Format is virtual. We are sponsoring and participating virtually via a booth.
Protein Structure Determination in Industry Meeting (PSDI) will be held November 8th to the 10th. Format is virtual. We are sponsoring, exhibiting via a virtual booth and giving a talk.
