The Challenger Sports League was established in 1997 by a group of local parents and professionals who desired recreational opportunities for children and teenagers with disabilities in Greensboro. 

Today Challenger Sports League continues to provide adaptive sports programs that foster additional opportunities for mainstreaming children with disabilities as a service of The Arc of Greensboro, Inc.  We currently serve over 150 children and adults through our Challenger Sports League. Challenger Sports activities include spring and fall baseball and tennis, and winter basketball and bowling. Challenger athletes engage in a four to eight week season that focuses on the development of physical and social skills associated with each sports activity, while instilling values associated with teamwork who are between the ages of 5 and 30 years of age are eligible to participate. We also encourage the friends and families to participate as well. Challenger Sports League is committed to providing our athletes with the opportunity to participate on a sports team that provides physical , social and emotional benefits to participants regardless of limitation.
