A new collaboration between MMAM and Liquid Music provides a curated musical accompaniment to the museum’s riverside atrium space. The selected music amplifies some of the most ambitious composers and musical artists creating work inspired by water.
Sonja Peterson creates large-scale artworks and installations from complex and intricately cut paper that explore the flora, fauna, and the history of travelers above and below the world’s waters.*
Clara Ueland creates beautiful and colorful intaglio prints inspired by her trips to the Boundary Waters of northern Minnesota, Lake Superior, and Scotland.**
This exhibition explores how German Expressionist artists used water as an element, including Emil Nolde's Autumn Sea XII (Blue Water, Orange Clouds) [at right].
These exhibitions features diverse collection of historical American and European art. Highlights include works by Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Pablo Picasso, Mary Cassatt, John James Audubon, and Gustave Courbet.
Time your visit with a docent-led tour at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum on Saturdays at 11am in June - August. There is no registration is required. Included with admission.
