Issue 2 | Spring 2020
Greetings from WHET!

The WHET Board of Directors has been working diligently to navigate these unprecedented times while staying true to our mission of providing opportunities for members in higher education to engage in cultivating their personal and professional potential.

WHET is embracing creativity amidst the COVID-19 crisis. More changes and challenges will surely come, so flexibility will be the operable word for the foreseeable future.

As a Board, we have decided to cancel our 2020 annual conference. Instead of a large group convening this fall, we will offer a series of virtual professional development workshops for the remainder of 2020. Read about about the June sessions coming up in this newsletter.

In closing, I am awed and inspired by the innovative ways in which you all have kept our educational missions at the forefront. We are incredibly proud of the reach and impact that the WHET network has and recognize that this is due in part to the efforts of our dedicated members. Thank you for your sacrifices and contributions.

Continue to care for yourselves and your families.

With warm wishes,

T achaka Hollins, Ed.D
2020 WHET President

June Virtual Sessions
Unpredictable life experiences come to us with little or no warning. Whether it be a tornado or a pandemic, these experiences cause
leaders and employees to face new challenges in the workplace
(or virtual workplace).

Led by Dr. Alice Camuti, Associate Dean for the College of Graduate Studies at Tennessee Tech, this session will provide women leaders with new considerations on leading employees during a time of unpredictability or season of disruption.

Attendees will explore new ways to lead including a discussion on adaptive leadership techniques that include how to be more connected to our employees even in a work-from-home environment.

The session will be delivered via Zoom video conferencing
from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Central Time.
Do you ever feel like you are in a three-ring circus?
Now, more than ever, women are wearing many hats. We are literally juggling the responsibilities of life. Many of us are trying to work from home, provide childcare, become home-school teachers, and occasionally find time for ourselves. It's a lot to manage!
We are more than capable of doing it all, but how well are we accomplishing these tasks?

Led by Dr. Tassany Henderson, Program Coordinator, Office of Transition Programs at Vanderbilt University,
this session will help you navigate your own three-ring circus while performing at your best!

The session will be delivered via Zoom video conferencing from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Central Time.
