Nominations Open
for Scholarships and Awards
Each year, WHET recognizes the talents of Tennesseans in higher education through scholarships and awards. While our annual conference may be canceled, we are planning to conduct a virtual awards ceremony later this year.

We are now accepting nominations for all scholarships and awards.  Applications are due August 31, 2020 .

Dr. Hal R. Ramer Professional Development Scholarship

The Dr. Hal R. Ramer Professional Development Scholarship honors an individual who has devoted many years to education and is a strong advocate for women excelling in higher education. The recipient of this scholarship must be a current WHET member. The maximum award amount of $500 can be applied to conference fees for a conference of your choice.

Patricia Pierce Conference Scholarship

This scholarship supports women graduate students and professionals who would like to be enlightened and empowered. The scholarship covers WHET's annual conference registration fee.

WHET University Presidential Advisor Leaving for Texas
WHET owes Dr. Alisa White a tremendous debt of gratitude for her extraordinary support and service to higher education in Tennessee. During her time on the WHET board, we could consistently count on her to be supportive, encouraging and honest. We appreciate her friendship and commitment.
Sam Houston State University is incredibly fortunate to secure such a talented leader to be its next president. We are truly going to miss Dr. White on our presidential advisory board.
Dannelle Whiteside, vice president for legal affairs at Austin Peay State University, was unanimously appointed as interim president by the University Board of Trustees in a special called meeting on July 6.

The Tennessee Board of Regents has appointed Dr. Carol Puryear as president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro. She has served as interim president of the college since May 2019.
