It's time to register to vote! Although it is not a major election year, your voice and your vote matter in the upcoming municipal general and special elections this November. Local elections have some of the most direct impacts on you and your community since local leaders influence things that affect us on a daily basis. Our schools, housing, transportation, police departments, public safety, parks, infrastructure, and community services are just some of the areas determined by local government. Since there are fewer voters in local elections, your vote is even more powerful!

The deadline to register for the November 2 municipal general and special elections is October 4. Make sure you are registered to vote and know where to vote by checking out the link here. You can also use the link to get registered, update voter information, and check out a sample ballot prior to election day. If you are planning to vote absentee, it is important to submit your application by October 22nd and return your ballot as soon as possible.

Exercise your right and register today!

  • Deadline to register: October 4th, 2021
  • Upcoming election: November 2nd, 2021
2021 Regional Leadership Institute Program
Cobb Collaborative Executive Director, Irene Barton, has been named to the 2021 Regional Leadership Institute (RLI) program of the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC). Members of the 2021 RLI class will have the opportunity to dig into key regional issues during the week-long leadership development program, to be held in Savannah September 19-24.

“This year’s participants represent a true cross-section of metro Atlanta leadership. This is valuable, as it requires true collaboration to take on our region’s complex challenges in a meaningful way,” said Doug Hooker, ARC Executive Director. “This year’s immersive, in-depth approach ensures that RLI remains a highly effective way of deepening metro Atlanta’s network of leaders and encouraging them to tackle challenges through a regional lens.”

Irene says "I am looking forward to expanding my horizons, doing some policy work, and collaborating in order to continue to improve outcomes for children and families in our community."
Five incredible young ladies from Girl Scout Troop Number 13389 chose to establish a Little Free Library at Green Acres Elementary in Smyrna as their Girl Scout "Silver Project."

This is number 12 in our initiative to install 21 LFLs throughout Cobb County in 2021. Special THANKS to Abby, Aila, Ansley (not pictured), Erin & Julia for their efforts in getting this LFL established for the students and families of Green Acres Elementary School.

Please visit our blog for more information on this LFL. We are excited to be over halfway to our 21 in 2021 goal and are looking forward to the remaining LFLs being installed and dedicated this year. Stay tuned!
