Renters and homeowners who are financially impacted by the economic slowdown related to the coronavirus pandemic are able to access rent and mortgage relief through GECAC.
Through the COVID-19 Cares Act, Erie County residents that are struggling to pay their rent or mortgage can receive financial assistance. Landlords who have tenants with unpaid rent are encouraged to inform them of the COVID-19 Cares Act housing assistance.
Residents that are homeless or facing eviction can also receive assistance through the Emergency Housing Program.
To request assistance, residents must contact Erie County Care Management Coordinated Entry (ECCM) at 814-SHELTER or 814-743-5837 to obtain a referral to GECAC. Renters and homeowners residing in Erie County and the city of Erie are encouraged to apply.
