AANHPI Parent Focus Group
Date and Time: Tuesday, May 9th, 7-8:30 pm
Event Location: Puesta del Sol Elementary
The Puesta del Sol PTA is hosting a gathering for caregivers (including parents, grandparents, other adults) of our Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander students. First, learn about Make Us Visible WA, an organization that advocates for the integration of AANHPI curriculum in K-12 schools. Then participate in discussion with Profe. Dana about Puesta del Sol's curriculum and AANHPI representation. We want to hear the priorities of families on this topic!

Summer Park Playdates
Are you interested in helping to organize/host grade-level summer park playdates?
We will work together to set up and host a variety of dates, times, and locations that won't overlap between grade levels.

FLAGS! at International Art Fest
The Puesta del Sol International Art Fest (May 24) includes a festive flag procession displaying the many countries of origin of our community! Please help us make this tradition representative and inclusive of our diverse community by filling out this form by MAY 12. There is an option for your student(s) to participate in the procession (carry the flag).
Please note, we may not be able to include every student in the procession.

FUNday Fridays - starting 5/5

Have you ever wanted to start volunteering at school but not sure how?
Here is one fun way!
Starting Friday, May 5, we will be having regular open volunteer hours at 9:15-10am and 2:00-4:00pm to help out teachers and staff by getting materials ready, any other tasks they need help with before the weekend, or things families can take home and work on over the weekend.
Refreshments and snacks provided!

- Per School Rules, ONLY Bellevue School District registered Field Day Volunteers may attend Field Day.
We need your help to make our Field Day FANTASTIC! This is always an exciting event to experience with your child/ren and we need a lot of volunteers to keep all the fun stations running. We look forward to seeing you there!

Apex Spring Fundraiser Feedback!
Thank you to everyone who supported the Apex leadership training and move-a-thon fundraiser!
We raised $20,793.00 that will go to supporting programs and activities for our students!!
Apex Move-a-thon is a new fundraising company that we were testing and would love your feedback here.

Host Families Needed for 2023-2024 School Year
The Amity Program offers interns a unique cultural and teaching experience at Puesta del Sol. We have four amazing interns this year who are serving in various classrooms.
We are looking for host families for the 2023-2024 school year. Hosting can be 3-6-9 month experience. If you are interested in learning about the program or hosting, or connecting to a current host family, please contact amity@puestadelsolpta.org.

May General Membership Meeting - DATE CHANGE TO 5/10
MEETING DATE CHANGE TO WED. 5/10, 7PM!
With many families attending the recently announced Small Hands on Art performance on 5/17 (announced after the Save the Date was posted) and other end-of-year events coming up, we have changed the date of the PTA General Membership Meeting to 5/10.
This will be an important meeting as we will be reviewing and voting on our PTA board for next school year, program updates and funding for both this school year and next school year. Your voice is important and this is one to not miss!
