New Children's Librarian

We are delighted to welcome a new staff member to Ventress Library! Here's her introduction to the library community:

Hello Marshfield,
My name is Miss Wendy and I am the new Children's Librarian! I am a former preschool teacher and children's theatre director. After teaching for over 20 years, I decided it was time to try something new! Since graduating amid the pandemic, I have found a new work home here at the Ventress Library. I am so excited to meet you all, so please make a children's room browsing appointment; check out some books and say hello! Some cool trivia about me: I have 5 cats; my favorite color is royal blue; my favorite animal is a squirrel; and my favorite book is Dragons Love Tacos by Adam Rubin.

Virtual Non-Fiction
Book Group
Please join us on Tuesday, December 1 at 6:00 p.m. for a virtual book discussion of Furious Hours: Murder, Fraud and the Last Trial of Harper Lee by Casey Cep. This masterfully told true crime story brings together the tales of a serial killer in 1970s Alabama and of Harper Lee, the beloved author of To Kill a Mockingbird, who tried to write his story. Hardcover, large print and CD copies of the book are available. Please call to reserve a copy. The book can also be read via Overdrive as an eBook. Please register for this event to receive the Zoom meeting log-in information.
Children's Updates

Extended children's room hours! We are now booking 15 minute Saturday appointments, register at www.ventresslibrary.org. Your children’s browsing appointment guarantees your time in the children’s room only. If you wish to browse the main library as well, please check in at the greeter desk first, as we are only allowed ten patrons at a time in the main library. Are you looking for the children's DVDs? We have moved them to the Children's room.
Tween & Teen Updates
The Ventress Memorial Library is off to a good fall, with some exciting teen offerings (grades 6-12) and expanded offerings for tweens (grades 4-6). While the library has expanded in-person hours, we know many are still unable to visit us in person during this ongoing pandemic. With that in mind, we went ahead and updated our pages for tweens and teens. Check out our "virtual" teen room to view our Tween & Teen Programs and Teen Resources
