We are so excited to welcome Tim Pucillo - Our new resident artist! Tim has a background in website design and digital arts, and is a great artist in all mediums! We are thrilled to have his expertise at the Hub! He will start teaching art classes this fall, and we are looking forward to working with Tim.
What is a Resident Artist and why is it great for the hub?
As the Hub's Resident Artist, Tim will teach classes on a consistent basis for the hub during all of our seasons. He will teach youth, teen, and adult classes. This is great for the Hub because Tim can teach basic lessons and build off those so that our community can keep growing in the arts through Tim's expertise. Additionally, he can teach classes that the community requests and meet the needs of all of our demographics.
As Always, we have:
-
Music Lessons for all ages in Piano, Guitar, Drums, Voice, Banjo, and Band Instruments!
-
Gift Certificates to use for art and music classes
-
Financial assistance to help offset costs of classes for qualifying students of all ages! We wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to UMC Parfreyville for the generous grant to offset the costs of scholarships. We strive to offer arts to all and your donation allows us to do so! THANK YOU!

The 64th Annual Manawa Rodeo is on!
|
It's Big, it's wild, it's western! The 64th Mid-Western Rodeo will take place Thursday June 30th, Friday July 1st, and Saturday July 2nd.
Go HERE for all the info on this annual event!
Don't miss The Manawa Rodeo Parade which begins at 10:00 AM on July 2nd at Manawa Elementary School and ends at the Mid-Western Rodeo Grounds.
|
The legend of the Manawa Rodeo began 60 years ago, when local business man Carl Dretzke was traveling in the western part of Wisconsin and saw a sign advertising a Bob Barnes Rodeo. Carl thought it might be a good fundraiser for the community, and brought the idea to the Manawa Lions Club. The Lions Club formed a rodeo committee and contacted Bob Barnes, a rodeo stock contractor, who in turn invited them to his ranch in Iowa to watch a rodeo. Casey Klemm, the local barber, and Carl made the trip to Iowa representing the Manawa Lions. They liked what they saw, and agreed that Manawa should host a Championship Rodeo.
Go to the Rodeo, it's a true legendary experience that you won't regret!

Jonathan E. Martin, PhD, is Professor of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at UW-Madison and appears regularly on WPR’s “Weather Guys” show.
All of us living today are among the first humans in history with access to such accurate predictions of the future. In fact, this capability arguably represents one of the most unheralded scientific advances of the last century. The presentation recounts the life and scientific contributions of one of the leading intellectual figures of this revolution, Reginald Sutcliffe. His story exemplifies how education, practical urgency, and creative genius – mobilized by an abiding curiosity - can conspire to solve even the most seemingly intractable problems..
