The Importance of School Environment
Victoria Carter, Director of Admissions
As a parent, I often feel the weight of responsibility of raising my children during such ever-changing times. They are exposed to so many challenges at such a young age, and it feels as though every decision and every moment is critical in their upbringing. How thankful I am to be a follower of a God who is never changing and always good and who gives us the Bible as a guide throughout our daily lives! Additionally, I am so thankful to have the ability to partner with Prince Avenue Christian School in the education of my children.
Last year my husband was diagnosed with COVID and spent many days in ICU fighting for his life. I can remember sitting in the parking lot with my newborn and 5-year-old after dropping my husband off at the hospital and feeling completely helpless in the moment. My son, a PreK student at Prince, looked at me and said, “Mom, we need to pray and trust God. My teacher says that God will always be there for us.” I had never been more thankful for PACS and the impact it was already having on my young child and our family.
Students spend more waking hours in school than anywhere else, and the school environment you have chosen for your children is one of the most important decisions you will make for them. Private school education is an investment. However, your investment is allowing your child to receive a competitive education built upon God’s Word that will lay the foundation needed to be successful in the secular world while also holding close the Biblical truths that have been instilled in them.

When I am walking with prospective families through the school, there are three items they often comment on regarding the atmosphere of Prince:
  • Smiles on students’ faces and laughter throughout the building
  • The presence of prayer and scripture from PreK through 12th grade
  • The sense of normalcy throughout the building even during a pandemic.
Now more than ever, where your child attends school should be a priority.
We had a record-breaking 178 new students enroll at Prince this year. We had to turn away many other applicants due to waiting lists in certain grade levels or “mission fit” concerns. We are already tracking ahead in applicants for next year compared to last year. I have to think part of the reason for this influx is parents searching for a wholesome school environment for their children during a difficult time in the world. Prince wants to maintain our small school environment, so we are limited in the number of students we can take.

We have great families at Prince. That is why you always get priority in spaces for the new school year. This year more than ever we encourage you to reenroll early to reserve your spot for next year. As of February 10th, we will open all remaining spots to new students, and we cannot guarantee a space to current students who have not completed reenrollment at that time.
If you have any questions about your family reenrollment, enrolling new students at PACS, or if you would like us to contact any prospective families who may be interested in making an eternal investment through their child’s education, please contact me at vcarter@princeave.org
