It's all in the details...
|
Bill DeMaine likes working with people who enjoy taking good care of their homes. DeMaine provides high-quality window cleaning and interior painting.
"We enjoy serving customers in a service capacity where most customers find it difficult to accomplish these tasks. We service people with premium quality work, we have a track record of quality and exceptional service. We pay attention to the details," DeMaine said.
DeMaine has been coaching with ActionCOACH for a couple of years. He started coaching because he found out how difficult it was to "go it alone" as a business owner.
DeMaine enjoys the comradery of coaching and having a peer group in group coaching that he can run ideas by.
"Since I’ve been with ActionCOACH, I've learned how to develop systems for my business that covers all of the bases from culture to vision - for hiring, for measurement. I knew nothing about these important facets of business until coming to ActionCOACH," he said.

Glover Mansion Catering and Events
Owner: Bob Adolfson
The hospitality industry was hit hard during the pandemic. Bob Adolfson, owner of the Glover Mansion, Red Rock Catering, Spokane Valley Event Center, Chateau Rive at the Flour Mill, has strong market penetration in the catering and events industry in the Spokane region.
Many weddings and corporate events were canceled in 2020, although he said things are looking up for 2021.
"Micro-weddings are a big thing," Adolfson said, referring to weddings with 25 guests or less. He said that people are booking the smaller weddings but using their budgets from the bigger weddings to put on a big party. "You can have a really elegant ceremony or event," he added.
Despite bookings for next year, he said that this year has been a challenge, "I thought we'd be in Phase 4 by now," Adolfson said regarding Washington's restrictions on having events.
With so many locations, under normal circumstances, Adolfson said they have a wide variety of menu items. Some of the best-sellers are the comfort food items with Red Rock Catering, to include BBQ. But he said the menus for the three facilities are Pacific Northwest and American style food. "We do a lot of variations with wild-caught salmon from grilling to baking, and different sauces."
He said they also have some great, award-winning appetizers like a honey pear bruschetta.
One thing is for certain, it's not just Adolfson who wants to get back to normal - let's all toast to a time of in-person meetings, corporate events, and weddings where we can have human-to-human interaction and some great food!

Inland Pacific Chapter of Associated Builders and Contactors
President/CEO: Suzanne Schmidt
When you see new construction on commercial properties in the greater Spokane and Spokane Valley communities it's likely that Associated Builders and Contractors is involved.
The membership trade organization is made up of businesses that are private construction companies serving the commercial construction industry in the region.
President and CEO, Suzanne Schmidt said, "A large percentage of members are open shop contractors. We are building hotels, restaurants, office buildings, banks, gas stations – commercial, private construction." She has been in the position with ABC for five years, but said they were established as the Inland Northwest Chapter in 1979.
The national organization was established in 1950. They’ve been in Spokane for a little over 40 years. Nationally there are 21,000 member companies. The Chapter website lists, "Our mission is to help our members develop their workforce, as well as win and deliver work safely, ethically, and profitably, to benefit their communities through the merit shop philosophy. With 69 chapters nationwide, ABC member firms comprise all specialties of construction within the industrial and commercial sectors."
Their target audience is general contractors and specialty contractors (electrical, HVAC, fencing, security systems).
Schmidt said, "We provide services to them, a worker’s compensation group for members to participate in; health insurance options for Idaho and Washington. We provide training or educational opportunities for our members from field agents to project managers." She added that there is a wide range of classes to help promote and develop construction manager employees.
