Message from Mayor Jack Tatooles
This weekend, we celebrate our nation’s Independence Day, an opportunity to commemorate our freedom. We appreciate all the patriotic men and women who do so much each and every day to defend our country, protect our freedom, and serve their communities.

On behalf of the Village of Inverness, I wish everyone a wonderful and safe 4th of July! Happy Independence Day.

Roselle Road Resurfacing Project Status
The Cook County Department of Transportation and Highway (CCDOTH) has informed the Village that the resurfacing of Roselle Road, from Palatine Road to Baldwin Road, and Roselle Road, from Palatine Road to Euclid Road has been delayed. The delay is a result of a strike currently underway by members of the International Union of Operating Engineering Local 150, impacting local construction projects throughout the region.

Local 150 is on strike against major material producers and quarries across northern Illinois that produce aggregate materials, including sand, gravel, and crushed stone, that are essential to the production of asphalt, concrete, and many other construction materials. The workers operate heavy equipment that is critical to the routine operations of these facilities.
Stay Safe in the Heat
During the summer months, the temperature in Illinois can reach dangerous levels. Extreme heat can be particularly hazardous for children, seniors, those with special needs, and pets. In addition to discomfort and fatigue, high temperatures can cause heat-related illnesses: heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. To protect yourself and others, please familiarize yourself with the following guidelines.

  • Stay out of the sun. If you must be in the sun, wear sunscreen (at least SPF 15) and a wide-brimmed hat.
  • Stay in the shade or under awnings as much as possible.
  • Avoid overexertion and strenuous outdoor activities.
  • Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothes that cover as much skin as possible to prevent sunburn.
