Good News Family & Friends,

Easter is two weeks away (Sunday, April 9) and Spring Break kicks off this upcoming weekend. Easter is also our 2nd birthday as a church. Wow! I've been reflecting about our first two years as a church and how many people have connected with us at some point or another, and I thought, "How amazing would it be if everyone showed up on Easter together!" So, that's my encouragement to you... If you've ever connected with Good News Church GA for anything (even if it's just one time), come gather with us on Easter and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus together. Easter is obviously also a great time to invite others to join us, so be thinking about who you could invite. Throw in a lunch invitation and I'll bet you'll have some takers. :)

PREPARING FOR EASTER

I've also been thinking about how we can start preparing ourselves this week and next for a meaningful Easter experience. To keep it simple, here are 3 suggestions:

  1. Reflect on how Easter has impacted your personal faith story.
  2. Read the "day by day" account of Jesus' final week leading up to the cross.
  3. Remember through a Maundy Thursday (7pm) Communion experience.

Click on the links above for details about each opportunity.

INSPIRATION

Quote of the Week

“God loves to forgive even more than you love to sin.” - C. H. Spurgeon

Verse of the Week

The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,

“Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of Israel!” - John 12:12-13

NEW! Share Your Faith Story

As mentioned above, a great way to experience Easter is to take some time to reflect on the impact of the resurrection of Jesus in your life, personally. As a helpful resource, we've created this My Faith Story feedback form that will walk you through and capture your own faith story. When you submit your form, we'll share it back with you so you have a copy to keep for yourself. It's pretty cool, so we hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity!

NEW! Maundy Thursday Communion at Hillside (7pm)

This is going to be a really special, relaxed, relational evening (if the weather is nice, we'll be outdoors around a fire) talking and having conversation about the Last Supper and the significance of that evening. We'll also have an interactive time of Communion. For details, click here.

A Study on Creation vs. Evolution - Sundays (1:30pm - 3pm)

Brian Marcus (in our church) has a passion for providing insight and teaching around the topic of "Creation vs. Evolution," and is teaching a 6 week interactive study. They're meeting in Brian & Donna's home. Brian has also written a book on this subject titled, Creation Fights Back. For more information, email Brian Marcus.

Women's Connect - Thursday, April 13 (6pm - 8pm)

Save the date for the next Women's Connect. Details to follow soon!

Hymns & Hops - Sunday, April 16 (5pm - 7pm)

Save the date for our next Hymns & Hops in partnership with Indio Brewing in the outdoor promenade of downtown Sugar Hill. This one is going to be great, so be thinking who you can invite, bring the family, and help us "Sing the Good News and enjoy good brews!"

VISION & VALUES

The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:5b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.

MISSION

The mission of Good News Church GA is "to connect with people and build relationships through community workshops, neighborhood-focused ministry, serving local needs, mentoring, and worship."

If you'd like to make a contribution and be a part of what God is doing through Good News Church GA, you can text "GIVE" to 855-363-5096 or give online here.
