Message from Thandy and Sisabonga High Says Thanks!
Exams are taking place now ahead of the December school holiday. The new school year will start again in Janaury. Thandy reports, "All glory and praise goes to the Lord as we wrap up our R4L Ministry year 2021. It has been a tough year due to Covid, lockdowns and strict regulations. Yet we are closing off the year on a high note as 9,482 Bibles were distributed this month to faithful classrooms, church youth and R4L community groups who have fully participated. They now get to write their names on their books and keep them."

Pictured above are students from Sisabonga High School in Mafahlawane village. Mr Mtimande, Headmaster, says, “I would like to thank the Reach4Life program for choosing our school. Covid has made it very hard to maintain good relationships with our students as they did not come to school for many weeks. We have had reports from other schools how their learners have fell pregnant and others dropped out. But in our school, we did not have such issues. R4L is a program that reprograms kids minds to do good and make right choices. The Peer Educators are a great inspiration and role models. We have seen the impact in our school, and we thank you for your hard work.”

New Work Begins in Mpumalanga Drug Rehab

Fikile (above, left) says, “Today we were launching our R4L program here in Mpumalanga Drug Rehab. There are 3,277 recovering addicts who live in these premises. Twice a week we will be coming to teach the Bible to them, and we believe the Lord is going to touch and change lives. My team and I were welcomed by the management staff, and we are looking forward to a fruitful time in this Rehab.”  Bheki (who oversees work in all rehabs where R4L work is taking place) adds, “We feel victorious today as we got to add a new Rehab in our R4L program. Twice a week we will be ministering here. We have seen change in other Rehabs, this too we believe God is going to do a great job.” Teams working in rehabs have been equipped with additional materials that were developed to include dealing with the practical challenges of recovery, in additional to spiritual help.
Tugela Ferry Fox Peer Educators Plan Lessons
These Tugela Ferry, KwaZulu-Natal Fox Peer Educators are pictured above after a lesson preparation meeting. This group of ten girls have been doing an outstanding job in their in-person and Whatsapp groups. Every Monday after school they meet and plan lessons for the whole week. "They Were Shy, But We Melted Their Hearts"
Richards Bay Peer Educator Mnqobi (blue jeans, middle) shares, “I started as Peer Educator at Shuma High school in March this year. We were well welcomed by the Principal and the teachers. Most kids were shy to talk to us at first, but we are armed with lots of fun activities which melted their hearts quickly. Its been a wonderful year, watching them grow in the word and in faith. My favorite moment is when a kid comes to see me privately as they want to give their lives to Christ. We are looking forward to doing this again next year.” (Note to Mnqobi: You've melted our hearts, too!)

Pastors Need Help; Welcome Reach4Life Program
Pastor Mzolo (left) says, “We thank you for calling us to meet up with you the R4L team. We need help as churches when it comes to the youth. These kids today face challenges we never faced, drugs are everywhere, gangs and all other troubles we see. As a chairperson in this Region, we welcome the program. We will release other youths to be trained as peer educators and we will fully support with whatever we can.”
"Reach4Life Teaches Truth and Changes Mindsets"
Pastor Michael Lukhele, senior pastor of Fountain of Life church (youth group pictured above), Mbube Village, KwaZulu Natal province, says, “We have been working in this village for 12 years as a church but we have struggled to draw the youth. I attended a workshop early this year when R4L was launched in another village, I went for training and I started a R4L group in our church within 2 months the youth was coming and inviting others, today we have young people in all our branches. R4L teaches truth to the youth and changes their mindset.”

Lesotho Trains New Team
Lesotho Coordinator Masintle (left) shares, “Today we are training a new team in a new R4L village here in Lesotho. The training helps the new Peer educators to understand the R4L book, we teach them activities using different objects, they get a chance to plan lessons and present them in front of the group. Schools and churches love R4L, we have been welcomed in many villages. Please pray that Covid will end so we can work freely again.”
"One School at a Time, One Child at a Time"
Headmaster Mr. Jonathan Tanyanyiwa of Showe Township, is pictured above welcoming the R4L Program for 2022. One school at a time, one child at a time the Lord is at work."
Portuguese Bible Helps Grow Program
Silvestre Matavel (back row, white shirt) says, “Now that we are using the Portuguese R4L Bible, the impact is greater, the kids are understanding the lessons more and participation has increased in all our groups. In the pic I am with my newly formed group ages 10 – 12. Thank you to the whole R4L family, those that support and those that do the Program. As a team in Mozambique we are growing, and we will continue launching more groups in different areas.”
