MRCI attended Disability Services Day at the Capital on March 28th, 2023, alongside MOHR and ARRM. The purpose of this event was to educate MN legislators about the issues impacting disability services, such as direct care professionals (DSP) wages and benefits, program integrity, and increased awareness of disability services.

MRCI staff and clients were able to meet with Senators and Representatives to discuss those important issues and more.

Current legislative priorities include funding for better wages and benefits for Direct Care Professionals (DSP) and Personal Care Assistance’s (PCA’s). Workforce crisis initiatives, how can we attract workers to the human service industry and funding for organizations like MRCI to continue offering Extended Employment and Day Services.
