This Sunday we welcome Rev. Dr. Priscilla Eppinger to our pulpit. A member of NDBC since 2020, Priscilla is the executive director of the American Baptist Historical Society. Prior to her current post, she was professor of religion at Graceland University Community of Christ Seminary, in Lamoni, Iowa, where she taught theology and religious studies and chaired the seminary’s Peace Studies Committee. An ordained American Baptist clergywoman, she has also served as a pastor and minister to young adults as well as an educational missionary in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Priscilla holds a BA degree from Agnes Scott College, an MDiv from Andover Newton Theological School, and a PhD in theological and religious studies from Northwestern University and Garett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. ‌
Trunk or Treat, a longtime NDBC tradition, will take place this Sunday, October 24, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Join us for games, crafts, food, and fun. Our focus is on children and their families, but this is an event that all can enjoy, so make plans to attend. Contact Sabrina Thomas or Virginia Gilbert for more information. Rain date for the event is Saturday, October 30, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
NDBC member Gayle Hall sends the following message, on behalf of herself and Northwest Metro Mask Makers, a group that formed in spring 2020 as the Covid pandemic began to affect all our lives. Gayle has spearheaded mask-making support at NDBC.

Congratulations--you did it! In total, Northwest Metro Mask Makes (NMMM) has been able to donate 41,125 masks to many nonprofits and schools.

Now you can take a break, knowing you have made a big difference. We will continue to deliver any completed masks you have made. We still have plenty of fabric for any of you who are still sewing for nonprofits, so please let Gayle know if you’re aware of anyone who needs masks or other items, so she can let NMMM know.

Barbara Atchley, Missions Chair
As we gradually and cautiously return to a more traditional schedule to our worship, we also continue to ask that you let us know through email registration that you will be attending our Sunday service. This allows us to plan better and also to contact trace under Covid guidelines, should it ever become necessary.

You can register each week through the link on our website. However, if you forget, please don't let that keep you from worship! Please attend anyway, and we will note your attendance when you arrive. Thanks for your help.
This Sunday at 9 a.m. Art & Soul will continue its study of the Amy-Jill Levine book Short Stories by Jesus. The class will discuss Chapter 6, which expounds on "the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector," as found in Luke 18:9-14. Hartwell Dew will facilitate the discussion, and you are invited to join by Zoom.
