The Illinois Police Memorial Committee is telling us the Memorial WILL happen. What it looks like for this year is still up in the air due to restrictions on gatherings due to COVID. If the weather cooperates, then it may appear as normal but with everyone wearing masks. If the weather does not cooperate then alternate locations will be used and are yet to be determined. If the memorial is inside, there may be limited seating with priority going to 2020 and 2021 Honorees surviving families.
We are being told there are no more available rooms at the Northfield Inn and the Wyndham Springfield North had limited availability the beginning of the week. As we have in the past, the Chapter will pay for one night in Springfield on May 5th, 2021 per family up to $100 according to the Chapter SOP's. Special allowances will be considered by the Board. Please submit the Travel Expense Form and a copy of the receipt within 30 days. The form and SOP's are available on our website at https://www.ilcops.net/survivorinformation
