Roncalli Catholic Schools - Pierside Auction

Set sail with the 39th Annual Roncalli Pierside Auction

It’s time to pull up anchor and buoy are we excited! The 39th Annual Roncalli Pierside Auction is returning with twice the fun! This year’s auction will offer both the in-person event this Saturday, April 29, at 5:30 p.m. at Roncalli High School, 2000 MIrro Drive in Manitowoc, AND the opportunity to bid online!

The online portion of the auction is open now and will run until noon Wednesday, May 3 at roncalliauction.givesmart.com. Head online to begin bidding. The items you will find online are different than those that are available at the in-person event.

The public also should plan to sail into the evening tomorrow with our adults-only, in-person event at the high school. Admission is free. A coat check will be available.

The public is welcome to come early, however, for Mass with Fr. Matt Colle, which will begin at 4 p.m. in the Zimmer Auditorium inside the Fine Arts Center.

Parking will be available in the Fine Arts Center lot with overflow parking in the Skana Aluminum lot; shuttle service will be provided courtesy of Brandt Buses, Inc. from 5:30-11:30 p.m. Attendees should enter through the Fine Arts Center as well.

Food, desserts, water, soda, hard seltzer, beer, wine and a specialty drink, the Sail Away with Me Sangria, will be available for purchase, in addition to the wide variety of items up for bid in both the silent and oral auctions.

The oral auction portion of the evening will be hosted by Candice Giesen, director of development, and John Jagemann, auction emcee. Gregg Schramm will serve as auctioneer.

The Auction Book, which covers items in both the oral and silent auction areas, is available now. It can be viewed online by visiting roncallicatholicschools.org/auction.

Among the items up for bid are handcrafted pieces, including a 34-inch walnut charcuterie serving board (No. 4061), which features a live edge and unique grain pattern created by Matt Goff of Northern Roots Woodworking in Manitowoc. Bidders who have an affinity for the unique, also will want to check out pieces by David Martin Pottery made with Lake Michigan sand, including a vase (No. 7022), cup (No. 7023) and bowl (No. 7024).

The arts also are appreciated through three pieces of artwork featuring Lakeshore scenes. The first, a 36-inch by 24-inch photo canvas print, entitled, “Manitowoc Breakwater Lighthouse” (No. 4051), is a piece of iPhone photography by Kay Larson. The lighthouse also is celebrated in “Manitowoc Breakwater Light” (No. 7070), an original framed and matted print donated by Bob Beck of I’ve Been Framed, which measures 26.5 inches by 29 inches. Last, but certainly not the least of the pieces of artwork up for bid, is metal art photography by AJ Berkhout, “Rogers Street Fishing Village Two Rivers” (No. 7076).

For Brewers and sports fans, there are plenty of items up for grabs as well! Get game ready by sporting a new jersey, sunglasses, hat and lanyard while toting a lunch box (No. 9042). Or, carry a Brewers Shoulder Sling Bag (No. 9043), Brewers Backpack (No. 9044) or Brewers Duffle Bag, which also comes with a flag and pennant (No. 9045). These noted Brewers items were donated by Kevin and Sara (Sitkiewitz ’00) Wilke.

Cash, check, credit cards and debit cards will be accepted forms of payment at the in-person event.

On the auction webpage, roncallicatholicschools.org/auction you also will find more information regarding the three raffles being offered this year – the Cash Raffle, Gravely Riding Lawnmower Raffle, and the Meat ’N Freezer Raffle. The forms for each raffle are available online, but tickets also may be purchased by stopping at Roncalli High School, calling the Development Office at 920-686-8150, or getting any remaining tickets at the in-person event. Winners will be announced at the event.

There is something for everyone whether you’re looking to participate in the online, in-person or both components of the Roncalli Pierside Auction! We are thankful to all who have contributed to this event with their time, talents and monetary support, and look forward to seeing everyone at Roncalli High School on April 29!
