SPECTACULAR SCANDALS

Let’s start with the still most famous and spectacular of all performance scandals, Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring.

So scandalous was the ballet that it came to be called the “The Riot of Spring.

The audience was a mix of the regular upper crust in their private boxes, and the bohemian artsy crowd in the cheap seats.
