Happenings in and around the Chamber!

In our look back this week, we'll keep on the subject of our annual awards event. As we dug deeper into the files, we learned that for many years, the Citizen of the Year presentation took place at a dinner/dance following a May golf outing!

As this Christmas Dinner program cover alludes to, the Batavia Chamber of Commerce gives Ole Awards, too. The Ole Awards were started by a group of people in 1976 who wanted to promote the City of Batavia. Like all events and programs, the Ole Awards has transformed throughout the years. From what we could learn, early awards were often given for exterior aesthetic improvements. For instance, in 1999, the Batavia Riverwalk was given a "Grand Ole" award.

Last week, we sent a press release announcing the 2022 Ole Award winners. A link to the press release is below. Make certain you join us to honor our eight winners at the Inspire Celebration on April 27th! Scroll down to learn more about this year's Inspire celebration and register to join us!

Do you have a story or photo that you'd like to share? We'd love to see it! Please send it to shirley@bataviachamber.org. Thank you!
