Summer Immersion Program for STEM Majors

Spaces are still available for the 2023 NIIMBL eXperience program at RVCC in June, which will offer African-American/Black, Latinx, and Native American college students the opportunity to explore careers in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. There is no charge to participate, and students will be given a $500 stipend. Deadline to apply is January 20.
Ranked Top NJ Community College

RVCC has been named the #1 Community College in New Jersey in 2023 and the “Intelligent Pick” (with a score of 97.92) by Intelligent.com.
Automotive Program Head Honored

Sara Heller, Coordinator of RVCC’s Automotive Technology program, was recently honored with a national achievement award as the CCAR/Electude/ASE Instructor of the Year.
Reducing Emissions from Energy

RVCC takes sustainability very seriously. Since 2005, and despite the addition of several new buildings, the College has reduced greenhouse gas emissions from energy by 53%, achieving NJ's goal to reduce emissions 50% by 2030. RVCC has a cogeneration plant and three solar arrays; upgraded boilers, lighting, and HVAC equipment; and uses an energy control system and occupancy sensors.
Honors College Capstone Projects

RVCC Honors College students presented their independent “Capstone Course” projects during a December symposium.
Professor’s Work in Journal

An article by Loretta Di Bianca Fois, Professor of Dance, But First, Let’s Jam: A New Materialist Twist on the Ontology of Play, appears in the American Journal of Play.

Student Nurses’ Association

RVCC’s Student Nurses' Association was extremely active during the Fall Semester.
Students Hold Toy Drive

RVCC’s Student Occupational Therapy Assistant Association (SOTAA) recently held a toy drive, collecting over 300 toys for children in need who are patients at Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside. SOTAA members delivered the toys to Children’s Specialized Hospital on December 12.
Museum Exhibition Tours

In-person and virtual tours are available for “Witness to History, Keepers of Memory,” an exhibition on view January 12-May 10 at the Morris and Dorothy Hirsch Research Library of The Holocaust, Genocide, and Racism at RVCC.

Through images and testimonies, this exhibition from the Montreal Holocaust Museum offers a sensitive and multifaceted look at the extraordinary life trajectories of Holocaust survivors living in Canada.

Chorale Singers Sought

Members of the community, high school age and older, are invited to join the Raritan Valley Community College Chorale this winter and spring. The group will rehearse on Monday evenings, from 7-10 p.m., beginning January 23.
