Welcome to CSM's December 2020 Newsletter
Camp Sancta Maria's mission is to let God meet the deepest needs of today's youth by forming and transforming young lives in a beautiful northern Michigan setting. To provide young people a technology-free, safe, and faith-filled natural atmosphere packed with fun, where new outdoor experiences and activities enable campers to create healthy relationships and grow spiritually, personally, and communally.

Dear Friends and Family of Camp Sancta Maria,
Welcome to our December 2020 newsletter! We pray that you and your loved ones are well, and that you are staying safe. We encourage you during these challenging times to stay positive and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. We are reminded in Philippians 4:8:

"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."

For us, that means thinking about the return of all our wonderful campers and their families next summer! We are reminded that CSM is all about wholesome recreation in an atmosphere of Christian faith! And so we invite you to check out the highlights from this month's newsletter:

  • Registration Opens Monday, December 14! We look forward to our 2021 season with eager anticipation! Check out our Registration article below for more details.

  • Safety First at CSM: We invite you to learn about the measures CSM takes to protect your children and grandchildren. Read more in our Safety First article.

  • Parent & Child Weekends: Learn how COVID-19 will affect Parent & Child Weekends at CSM in 2021.
We are eternally grateful to you for your continued support of Camp Sancta Maria. Thanks to you, CSM campers grow spiritually, personally, and communally.

Thank you again, stay safe, and God bless you.

Warm regards,

John David Kuhar
Dad, Donor, and Executive Director

Parent & Child Weekends Suspended for 2021
It is with much sadness that we announce the suspension of all Parent & Child Weekends at CSM for the summer of 2021. This was a very difficult decision to make, even after extensive contingency plans and much prayerful consideration. However, given all the new measures that will be required next summer and the impact they will have on our entire community, we are confident this is best for everyone's safety.

All families who transferred 2020 Parent & Child Weekend registrations to 2021 will be contacted directly to review your options, including transferring your child to another session, securing a Camp credit for 2022, receiving a refund, etc.

We know this will be very disappointing news for many families. Know that we are equally disappointed. God willing we will be able to offer Parent & Child Weekends again in 2022.
We Are Grateful for Your Prayers
and Your Financial Support
CSM is held in a trust governed by an independent Board of Trustees. While the Archdiocese of Detroit had generously donated the services of one its priests for decades, they are not responsible for CSM financially. This means that we are responsible to secure our own funding to advance the mission that has been passed down to us since our founding in 1933. To continue this essential work, we need your help. Are you feeling called to donate? Thank you for your prayerful consideration!
