Moorpark Business News Briefs

Here's a collection of Moorpark Business News:

VC Indoor Mask Mandate Extended: The Ventura County Public Health Department announced a monthlong extension to its indoor mask mandate in public settings, which is now in effect until at least October 19, 2021. Businesses must also still post a "Masks Are Required" sign at their front doors.

VC Unemployment Rate Falls: The Ventura County unemployment rate improved from 6.4% in July to 6.2% in August. This is better than California's 7.5% unemployment rate, but still trails the U.S. unemployment rate of 5.3%. Sector-by-sector employment figures are available from the state's Labor Market Information Division.

Moorpark Recognized for Financial Reporting: The City of Moorpark recently received an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement and a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the US and Canada. The City posts all of its financial reports on its online Financial Information Hub at www.moorparkca.gov/FinancialInformation.

Apply Now for California's Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grants

The State of California is still taking new applications for its COVID-19 Relief Grants through September 30.

The state grants are generous - between $5,000 and $25,000 depending on your annual revenues - but there is unfortunately not enough funding available to provide these grants to every business that applies. However, nearly 150 Moorpark businesses and non-profit organizations have already received nearly $2,000,000 in state grants through this program.

If you previously applied for, but did not receive, a state COVID-19 Relief Grant, you are automatically moved forward into the subsequent selection process. You don't need to do anything at this time. However, if you did not previously apply, you can now apply online.

If you aren't sure if you previously applied, or if you have any questions, please call (888) 612-4370. Call center hours are Monday-Friday, 7A-7P.
