Formatted Wage Allocations

Wage Allocations are available! AGC has consolidated and made all 2023 wage allocations available to members here—the numbers organized in the same format for all trades and columns are added (and color coded) to help its use and to answer questions (eg what number to use for prevailing wage survey, what is the taxable/nontaxable income, what’s the difference between gross wage and total amount paid which would include the other fees). If you have any questions, feel free to email Mike. Need login credentials? Email Renee.

Prevailing Wage Meeting & Review

AGC is arranging meetings with the State and certain trade unions to learn more about how the State calculates prevailing wage, when prevailing wage is adjusted (or not), and how to fix certain classifications, descriptions, or wages. If you are interested in joining this conversation, please email Mike before Tuesday.

Budget Agreements Coming Together – in Some Areas

Conference committees for each budget area are continuing to meet over the weekend and next week to reconcile differences between various proposals. Some agreements have been made such as agriculture and Legacy Amendment areas, and more are expected in the coming days as negotiations continue. A robust public works package, often referred to as a bonding bill, is typically one of the last pieces of legislation passed in session. Stay tuned for possible Action Alerts to get a bonding bill and other key AGC supported initiatives across the finish line as the legislature inches closer to May 22 adjournment.

Minnesota Stormwater Seminar Series:

Filtration Media Expert Panel Discussion

Next Week: The conclusion of the Spring of Media for the Minnesota Stormwater Seminar Series will involve a panel discussion with 6 industry experts who have extensive experience on stormwater filtration and infiltration media. Bridget Ulrich and Andy Erickson provided highlights of their research on media formulations during the March and April Stormwater Seminar Series, respectively. For the May seminar, they will join four featured panelists including three practitioners who are experienced in filter media applications: Erin Anderson-Wenz (Barr Engineering Co.), Mike Isensee (Carnelian-Marine-St. Croix Watershed District), and Erik Megow (Stantec), and by another media researcher, Mei Cai (Natural Resources Research Institute).

These practitioners and researchers have found that some media installations are not performing as desired. However, the solutions explored and developed by them and others may not be cost-effective. The panel discussion will conclude with a presentation of tools and resources for media that are available to practitioners within the Minnesota Stormwater Manual, presented by Joanne Boettcher. The tradeoffs between research and applications will provide for an interesting and informative discussion during the May 18 Minnesota Stormwater Seminar.
