Join us for the CPWC Closing Luncheon on Friday, May 13 at the home of Julie Lischer. We will enjoy a lovely lunch, install next year's slate of officers, and award Member of the Year. We will be the back garden, weather permitting. RSVP by May 12. Cheers!

From the Co-Presidents

Welcome to April!

I want to remind everyone that most of the Women’s Club activities take a break during the summer. So if you are interested in any of our gatherings, take advantage! I will be going to First Friday…I just love all the people I meet there. And I’m looking forward to the Field Trip Tour of Atlanta. I’ve lived here for almost 9 years and have never done a tour of Atlanta. I can’t wait to see what our members, Paty and Patty, have in store for us. I hope you’ll join us!

Who went to the fundraiser at Ironmonger Brewery? It was so fun! The musician was phenomenal, the beer was great, the Williamson BBQ was great and I heard the ax throwing was so fun but I was too busy talking to people to go check it out! Thanks to the kids who helped serve, freeing up the adults so they could have more time to enjoy the event. The final numbers are not in yet but I think 10 women of Hope was truly grateful for our support. Susan and I were also VERY grateful to those who attended and supported the event. We hope you all had a great time!

Ladies, my time as co-president is winding down and I can’t tell you how much I appreciated the opportunity. If anyone is hesitant to volunteer for this amazing organization, please don’t be. The time I have spent volunteering for this group has been an amazing growth experience. And I’m not done yet!

In gratitude,

Lesli

About Poorvi Chordia (Herbs & Kettles)

Tea rituals are rooted in her heritage, but Poorvi’s decision to launch a national tea brand was triggered by the pandemic. Poorvi is an attending physician and infectious disease specialist at Grady Hospital; her husband Abe is a Harvard trained radiologist.

After busy frontline shifts as their respective hospitals, she and her husband, Abe, cherished tie spent over tea at home with each other and their two young daughters. In an example of a pandemic silver linings, the founders ignited their love of loose-leaf teas, spent more time in ther urban garden, and Poorvi received certification as a tea sommelier.

In 2021, Poorvi and Abe started selling her loose leaf teas at neighborhood Atlanta farmer’s markets. Today, their brand is available nationwide at HerbsandKettles.com. Their collection boasts more than 60 varieties including loose leaf, herbal blends, ad lattes from single source, single batch growers and from farms where Poorvi and Abe have visited. Personally committed to economic stability in her active India, Poorvi directs proceeds to biodiversity and wildlife conservation efforts including a new Red Panda initiative with the Prameya Foundation.
